stereo seperation and panning? for me its the same stuff.am i wrong? would be cool if someone could clear this up.

My understanding is that stereo seperation is about how things appear (acoustically) in the sound field, left to right (with the use of pan) and front to back (with the use of reverb and other effects)...

I'm self-taught so one of the more schooled cats could probably clarify this...

stereo image/seperation = Percieved width and depth of a mix .. each instrument having its own "space"

panning = placement of instruments left to right

panning alone wont get u great stereo image/seperation .. its only part of it...
