It seems like every time I read an interview(or watch one)with one of my favorite producers, it seems like they all use an ASR-10. I don't want to know who your favorites are, and if they use one or not, i just wan't to know what makes this ASR so good? I have a MPC and a Korg Triton, so I know what makes them so badass and why everyone's got one. I just want to know if anyones got an ASR-10, what makes them such a good buy for making hip hop, and if i already have the MPC and Triton, would an ASR be a good buy? Thanks

Hey,

My guess is that they've been doing music for a while now, and they got the ASR10 when it came out and haven't felt the need to replace them with newer samplers.

If you have an MPC and Triton, you have gear that is way more powerful than the ASR10's.

Take care,

Nick

Yeah, like Vitaminman said, the MPC and Triton combination has greater power than the ASR-10, which in fact, is a system that has seen better days.

I have a homeboy that used to use the asr-10 he produced a few songs for onxy in their prime in fact he was their first dj he doesn't use it any more he has an mpc but the thing about the asr it's a samplers machine It's the only key board that I have seen that has no sounds in it and i also know that it gives your stuff that grity dirty sound

asr-10 was a good piece of equipment for its day -- i had a friend who owned one -- but with the mpc and triton -- you are in good shape -- it's all in the user's choice of weapon

Man I got an ASR-10 and I love it but it is all about the sound you want and if you know how to use it your gear. Just because you got a MPC or Trition don't make your music sound good.

You're right Frenchg , that doesn't change the fact that an mpc and triton are more powerful....To each his own asr-10 is a good machine but so are the mpc and triton......I just started using the Triton Rack mount a few months ago has a lot of sounds in it but I would rather a roland module
