What's Reason??

Sup everybody? I was reading a thread before about some program called "Reason." What is this?? Is it even a program, or is it an actual machine of its own??

One more important thing!!!
I'm looking for a program that will allow to open songs from cds and edit them. (Than save them as waves.) Can someone hook me up?? Thanks guys...

The best way to put songs from CD to computer is probably MusicMatch. There are other programs that do it but this one is probably the easiest. Just like anything it takes a couple of times to get the hang of it. Ive been doin it for years so its like second nature. As far as editing, look into Cool Edit 2.0.

*Cool Edit 2.0 is what I had, I was asking if there are any other good programs. ALSO, I wasn't talking about just putting songs from a cd onto my computer. I was talking about opening a song from a cd, and taking pieces from it that I want. (Than saving the cut pieces as waves.) I know Cool Edit does this... is there any freeware I can use to do the same?? I had Cool Edit but I think the crack I used doesn't work anymore. "Fade" locked my other post about a Cool Edit crack, (which is understandable, he doesn't want illegal stuff like that discussed on this board.) That's why I'm asking about freeware, or another good program someone would be willing to share...

Studio simulator was the best description I heard for it. You start out with a mixer and you can hook up one of their two synths, drum machine, loop machine, or two samplers. As many as your computer can handle in any order you would like to put them in. You can hook up 14 mixers into each channel of one mixer to have 196 different channels of sound if your computer let you. You can flip the whole setup around and actually plug the devices up any way you want to like on a rack unit in a studio. Pretty cool stuff...

if you want a program that lets you open a song from a cd edit it cut it up or do whatever then save as a wav. file try acid music this program isn't good for much else than cutting and mashing,but it's great if you wanna cut samples to put into a song or lay an accapella over your beat,so try that
