What's My Best Bet...setup?????????????

MAN, I CAN'T MAKE A F**KIN DECISON.......I GOT MY MPC200XL....BUT WANT A COMPLETE WORKSTATION LIKE THE YAMAHA MOTIF......SHOULD I JUST ADD TO THE MPC OR SHOULD I JUST GO WITH THE WORKSTATION..........ISN'T AN MPC AND A SYNTH A PAIN IN THE ASS TO HOOK UP IN THE HOME STUDIO....U NEED A MIXER AND ALL THE OTHER CRAP....WITH THE WORKSTATION, EVERYTHING IS RITE THERE.....DO U GUYS AGREE THAT A WORKSATTION IS MORE PRACTICAL, OR AM I JUST LAZY,HAHA.....WHO KNOWS......I KNOW EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT , BUT GIVE ME SOME INPUT...HOLLLLAAAAAAAAA........INCOG

P.S. BESIDES THE MPC BEING SO EASY TO USE....WHAT ELSE DRIVES YOU TO USE IT AS THE CENTERPIECE?

I'd go with the MPC + a Z4 or 8 and the Emu Emulator X studio.

The Z series are probably one of the nicest samplers available at the moment. Enough memory, capabilities and adapts quite nicely to the pc via usb. Hook the midi to the mpc and you're ready to rock. The Emu is your PC interface enabling various analogue ( balanaced 24bit/192 kHz )and digital ( pretty much all standards ) I/O + plus sync. Anything signal routing goes through the internal 32chnl mixer ( zero latency ) so no need for a hardware mix console unless you prefer an analogue console. The main purpose to the Emu is basicly all Emu sampler and fx ( 50 Z-plane filters! + the usual fx ) technology build into 1 card, the sampler operates as a vst or standalone module. So it seems you'd have 2 samplers in your setup but with the I/O's it makes a cheap solution and the sampler comes in extra. The card also enables Zero latency as it provides DSP power to carry the cpu needed for other vst instruments if used.

In case of the workstations you can ask yourself how many sequencers you want in your setup. I personaly dont see it as a bonus but as a waste of money considering that the mpc+pc is the perfect workstation. Might you be interested in these machines I suggest simply buying the rackversions, just for the sounds.

As for setting the shit up, YEAH! You're hella lazy, that leads to knowing less, dont remain stupid in this because it's not that difficult. Setting up a synth to the mpc and routing the signals to a mixer are basics. You can learn the shit right here on Illmuzik.

Dont be noob!

Yeah, oke, but why add another sequencer if your main concern is the sound from the motif ? Save the cash and just buy the rack version. MPC + rack equals or better than the MPC+ workstation. Or sell the mpc and start using the motif sequencer, whatever you like best.

I use a 2000xl and a jv2080, i think its an ill combination. You could cop a 2080 for like under 500 bones - hell of a lot cheaper than a motif.
