Whats in a Name???

I have noticed that many of us have different screen names and personas across the net, to the point that we may not even know one another on different forms or more over IM identities..
Doesnt it make sense to keep you identity across many formats to establish your production identity?
Why should I be Relic here , then DJsurfnot_12 somewhere else then R_0fg2 somewhere else then have myspace/thelittles ?
You can find me either as Relic or RelicofRIP lots of places..

Just wondering about yalls thoughts on this for those that are serious..And get what Im trying to say..

Anything dealing with my music business you'll see "Lil Drama Boi" or "Tight Work Entertainment" from screen names to email addresses. Everything I do online is not business though so for that I'll have any ole name. I never do business on the IM tip so you'll get some of the craziest names ever. When I was deep into Madden I had various screen names for that as well. I just choose to keep everything compartmentalized and separate. Works for me!

Yeah I agree with Relic, I just use dj2good or 2goodproductions. And if Im ever going to sign up to some porn forum(which there is really no need to do) I would use an alias. If anything is gong to tarnish the name of 2good productions then I just use an alias, simple. And as for haters, who gives a fuck about haters, Ive been making music long enough to realise that there are many varied tastes in the world, when you have tracks loved by some and equally hated by others then you realise that EVERYONE has haters, whether its jealous motherfuckers or people that enjoying hating on others or people that simply dont like your music, the world is full of all kinds. Thats what makes the world and music so interesting to me.

yeah i keep my name the same anything music related .. its always ash holmz or smash brothers or ash holmzini ... but all that other shit (porn and all that) i use a diff name lol... but to effectivley "brand" urself u cant be switchin ur name up for evry diffrent thing u do imo.... gotta be consistent so cats recognize and know who you are imo. but then again id ont frequent many places on the net ... just here and gearslutz mostly ... and i pretty much never on IM, maybe once a year lol.

i changed my name a year ago, and most of my die hards have kept up with me, i even ran into cats under my new name who were like OH You're dskillz, i remember you from soundclick...

so the net is a tight nit community, you just gotta be consistent...and stay relevant.

In my case, my nickname and what I go by is "Quality". I picked that name for myselfabout a year ago. But the reason why my name isn't the same here on ILL is because I really didn't have a nickname when I first signed up with ILL. I would change my name on here if I could, but I doubt that I could.

I'm sanova or sanovamedia everywhere i go, from producer forums, to car tuning forums, to asian porn forums.. same shit for me.. its un-needed confusion to have zillion identities for no reason... (unless of course i want to remain anonymous thru the net, and have a reason)

Glad to get such a response, I think one thing that prompted me is I have no idea who some of yall are in my IM list so I have to ask and thats some what embarrasing , but how the hell am I suppoosed to know that "sillystring2" is "Bart5" who is actually "Quality"..

Also some of the names under new members makes me shake my head..
