I use a regular 2.1 Logitech THX setup but ive read an article in "Scratch Magazine" that 'Timbaland' just uses headphones to make & mix songs, like headsprung was made and mixed on through his headphones. So if he can mix through his headphones it really doesnt matter if its monitors or headphones as long as you know how to compensate what your hearing i guess.

well as a medium between my Events and using headphones I got a pair of the Maudio audiophile DX4 monitors and they think they are dope to get your mixes pretty much on point with the exception of the heavy sub bass but I kinda know my setup now depending on the bass I use to get that decent...

u guys mixin on headphones r crazy ... well i guess its all about what you are used too.... i say monitors at low to moderate volume levels ... only time is use headphones is to do some delicate panning , or when im checkin for distortion.. and when im spittin in the booth

Same here, I use the Event ASP-6 Monitors at a low volume.

I've heard from many people and I've read lots of mixing articles and they all say u must not mix with headphones, because it gives false, unrealistic image of your mix..
true that headphones are just to fuckin close to the ear its not how must people would here a track your mix must sound good in speakers that are far away from the ear. radio, car speakers, club speakers, stereo system at home etc.

I don't have any monitors as of yet plus, I live in an apartment complex so I mix with AKG K-220 M Headphones. They are noise canceling so I can hear pretty intricately. However, it is much better to use monitors for overall mixing, panning and the bang of the drums and headphones for intricate happenings in the songs.
