The thing is....adding too much can make it UNAFFORDABLE to the average consumer. I say let hardware STAY hardware. Having more than one piece to your studio is a GOOD THING.

I use reason, as well as acid pro and soundforge. I rarely use pro tools, I just feel I dont need it anymore, the file sizes are huge, and inconvenient.

exactly the same, but intead of occasional pro tools use, occasional cubase use, just fro Synplant really.... love that thing....and Mu Tonic...

but i am beefed to the max with DX plugs for soundforge....

I do use PT for my mixing, though.

I absolutely LOVE PT

Especially since Gobbler supports PT...I just upload all of my shit to the cloud...JUST IN CASE.

PT is so awesome....

oh yea, Ableton rocks. For mixing a band, I still like PT better. But man ableton treats audio like a rubber band, its awesome!
