just wanted to introduce myself to everyone..... the name's S. Rexx and i'm glad to be a part of the IllMuzik crew. accidentally stumbled across this forum while i was searching for tips on how to navigate through Sonar 5. perused the site for a bit, read a few articles/posts, listened to a few beats and just got hooked. there are a lot of sites and forums out there that claim to "cater to aspiring musicians and producers alike" but for one reason or another, IllMuzik seems like it actually does cater to that particular demographic.
unlike many of the members here it seems, i am a fledgling to the production world. i've been classically trained in the piano for some time (going on 19 years now) but as far as tackling music from behind the boards, i'm still wet behind the ears. i've always had a passion for music (especially the hip-hop, R&B, and blues/jazz genres) and a great interest in production so i figured it was finally time to start my long overdue journey into production and see what i could contribute to the music realm.
my setup thus far includes: my ol' Korg 01/w pro X keyboard, an M-Audio Firewire 410, a pair of Rokit 5 monitors, and Sonar 5.
but yeah, that's pretty much me in a nutshell. looking forward to learning a lot from everyone and hopefully gettin' some original work out there for y'all to critique and enjoy in the near future.
