Web Site To see How Many Albums Were Sold!

Im back into my marketin research phase. and i want to start by lookin at patterns of record sales by certain artists over time. like ludacris, im esp interested in him because his albums are basicly all the same, he follows the same pattern of his first album. so i want to see how well his sales are doin opposed to someone like ja rule (i know ja rule has sold alot since he switched his style to kater to women.) but i still need to see the figures for myself. and then of course most importantly i need to see jay-z becuase he just came out with hit after hit. so i need to see if that is the route to take, but yea.

who knows of any website that tells u how many albums a certain artist has sold???

Other than sites that you have to pay for which give you up to date sales data:

I would say to check http://www.riaa.com and search their "Gold and Platinum" database. These are non-exact figures. It will simply say "Gold," "Platinum," "Multi" if the artist went multiplatinum followed by the number of times the album has gone multiplatinum, like 2x or 3x or more.

Each platinum record in the USA = 1,000,000 units.
Gold= 500,000
Diamond= 10,000,000

Also, http://www.billboard.com has an adequate listing of non-exact figures for singles and albums.
