turntable problems

ayo some reason when I drop my needle it runs straight to the end of the record. I tried changing the weight of it but doesnt help. Help a turntable newb out mella.

Did you remove the plastic cover off the needle? Not to be insulting but thats one of the mistakes I made when I purchased my first real turntable.

or has the stylus broken off from the cartridge?
or is their a dust ball on the tip of the stylus?

If its not what dahk said its busted....
Sounds to me like lotsa dust, which if your new it hasnt had time to get yet, or like he said the stylus or needle itself is busted..
Go buy anothern.

if u have that set all the way it could cause that

Or the weight on the back of the turntable arm isnt screwed on right,
If you do it like Dj's I know, they just remove the bitch and let it sit in the groove..lol, less skipping and gives a new definition to diggin !

I replaced the needle but I still get the same result.

Actually BEFORE I replaced the needle, the old needle stop doing the skip to the end of the record shit it was doing, but it started producing this muffled,skipping sound.

Now that I've replaced the needle I still get that fucked up sound! anybody got a clue to what could be going on?

waaaaaaaaay back when i used to have a turntable i remember i had the same prob in my case it was the damn needle its really hard to imagine that its something diffrent.try a diffrent new one maybe the one u replaced was fucked up too.

Sounds like the weight on the arm may be too heavy would be my next guess..
You dont want it "Diggin" into the record...
Dust , needle , weight , stylus . Thats the checklist that Im thinking for starters...

Yeah, look at the very tip of the needle, if it looks like the headshell is almost scraping the vinyl,you have to much weight on it.other than that, turntables are very simple . A needle is like putting a mic to an instrument, if the needle (mic) is good and it's placed(right weight on tonearm) properlly youl'll get a good sound.
