Ok how do I get that deep ground shaking bass. Im not talking about a solid 808 kick or something like that, I'm talking about deep bass hum thats extended for a few beats, and actually has a melody to it. I am using reason, and I have tried many different eq's and samples from records and downloads ect. I cant seem to get anything like this to fatten up my tracks and make them really shake. Someone please help me out.

I use a bass note from a bass scale that I downloaded, and load it into the nn-19 sampler in reason. Then i use the matrix sequencer to lay it out.

My bass lines tend to be deep and spaced out, so I open up the release on the envelope in the sampler and work it from there. After that I use a cut filter to shave off the high ends, leaving be with only the low end growl.

hope this helps.

Hey,

Generate a sine wave in something like Cool Edit at the frequency you want...40-60 hz will KILL your speakers if loud enough, that's the kind of bass you want to make your stomach churn and piss everyone off at the stoplights.

Of course, you have to have speakers which can reproduce those frequencies in order to hear them...if you're not using a subwoofer with your computer, you're not going to hear anything at all, no matter how much bass you've put in.

Take care,

Nick

I use the piano roll in acid and use a vst pluging to change the sound, works a treat.

<~~~~ Southern Crunk shit !!!!! SINE WAVE is the way to go!!!!
the cleanest one that you can find yo!!! some sine wave sounds, generated sine waves differ... Some times they have too much Mid bass
... I have some sines that are suppost to be 35 to 30 cycles but when
run them threw my audio controll specturm analyzer i see that it registers 35 to 50 instead .... So make sure its clean very clean
If you want it ill give ya a program that analyzes them in realtime...
on my in lab system i can register a pure 20 cycle tone..."Pure" but, most systems can only run down to 35 to 40 hz especially cars.....
<~~~~ If ya want a good Subwoofer enclosure, The Folded Horn i designed foy my Lab is tha WAY TO GO!!! hit me up and ill give you tha Plans on tha G.P. For more info just ask me!!! Peace

you cant really good a good one with sine wave alone.

along with the sine wave in a low octave and low pitch, combine it with a saw that is pitched higher, it creates a verbato and sound like a trunk filled with metal cans sorta. what are you using, because on the moog it has a setting where you can alter the frequency of the wav forms.

in that case you would do something such as giving the sine wave a low frequency/pulse and the saw wave a high frequency/pulse. lfo's can also change the type of this bass you want.
