Everybody's talking bout triton but I wonder why...

Does that machine have any hip-hop sounds... even those expansions aint about hip-hop...

I wanted to buy an mc-505 as drum machine and a jv 1010 with hip-hop expansion, that's already a nice price ...

SO instead of this I could buy a triton.

But what about working with it??
I want to work, the way a work with a drum machine...

You can doooo anything with the Korg Triton. I have one with the vintage archives expansion, and the Orcherstral one. I also have a Roland 5080

Explain to me what hip hop sounds are? A Kick is a Kick, a snare is a snare, a clap is a clap, a tom is a tom, a high hat is a hat...get me?

If your asking if its possible to make hip hop music with the massive archives it has, than yes! You can make hip hop music with anything....

That's right. I'm using for example the old mc-303 to make beats...

But I also got an old CS1X synthesizer from yamaha, I can't use it for my beats cause this sound is so cold and clean. ( good for techno or new age)

I need a great number of nice presets and natural sounds.

I downloaded a Triton demo but that was some ugly trance/techno shit... so techno that even timberland won't use these sounds.

Triton le is cheap, is it worth to buy it?
I think you have no sample possibilities, so you can't use any sample cd's...

Another question is ... How do I make my own patterns with the triton?

Is it as easy as using a drum machine? Or is it totally different? Cause I never play anything by myself, I always programm it.
:p

Most people do not know what to do with Triton when they have it. If you do not alter parameters on patch you are simply using it like sampler. Moss board is good, but Triton marketing is very good. Hip hop sound can be made with any good sampler and synthesizer, look at Neptunes and their beats. They are different when all try to be like doctor Dre. Many people follow and do not do innovative things. Hip hop was always about innovation from beginning. Now it is bad.

Hey,

People like the Triton because it is a one-stop solution for making tunes. It has an integrated sequencer, multitrack recorder, sampler, PCM synth, plus a weighted or semi-weighted keyboard which is good for performers. You can burn cd's with it, import different sample formats (Akai, EMU, WAV, etc.) from sample cd's, master your tracks, and pretend that you are a big time producer.

You can also expand it with different options, from digital i/o cards to PCM cards to the exciting MOSS card, which gives it the possibility to become a 'proper' synthesizer.

The one thing which sets it apart from the rest is its touch-screen which gives the user much easier access to the OS and all the synth's functions. I've played with one in the shops, it's very cool to be able to simply point and drag things on a little screen instead of messing around with buttons and knobs to navigate. However, I couldn't imagine what a nightmare it would be if this thing ever went bad, it probably costs a small fortune to replace!

However, in the studio, producers aren't using it for its sequencer(they use a software sequencer) sampler (they use their own Akai/EMU samplers), multi-track recorder (they're using Pro Tools or something computer based)...they use it because the sounds on it are fresh and because it looks GOOD to have a silver keyboard in their sonic arsenal.

While there are lots of studios and producers who have the Triton, there are even more who do NOT haver the Triton. And I'll bet my copy of Cubase that most owners don't even learn how to do anything else with it except play a few of the preset sounds and tell people how they 'gots a Triton, yo...'.

So why get it? isn't the triton popular for it's sequence/sampler features?
i know people get primarily for it's "sounds" but.... wouldn't you be better off with the rack version?
