Ok I have had a lot more time to dig into this board, because you need that, I was not impressed with the drums or even loading drum samples into this board until recently and 2 days ago I finally followed some of the instructions from the manual by using fx from a program specifically for drums....I have a rack of drum samples from vinyl, from bangin beats, from modern beats you name it.....I use waves gold sometimes but I never really, really was great at drum compresson, FX and equ until I started my recent experiments, aight you are wondering what does this have to do with the Triton extreme, well I loaded a bank of my drum samples into the thing, now until 2 days ago these samples had the same flat response...dead and unawake.....well what I had overlooked was the drum kit fx that you can route to the kit (sort of like the way you add FX via fruity loop producer edition).....I copied one of the custom fx programs to the kit....it has compressor, equ, chorus and reverb.....for starters.....the compression is THE best I have used and heard, I have a behringer and a dbx compressor and never got the results I have gotten, is there any triton classic or studio users here?......the main thing is the ease of using this workstation, it has 2 usb ports, I can connect it to my PC and it looks like another drive, I can edit my samples and drag and drop them to the triton......I just bought a cd burner and you can record from the board straight to wave and burn the cd from it with no computer intervention.....anyhow wait until you hear the drumz...Imma post some in the showcase....Think Dre or Just Blaze drumz that'z all I have to say....and I was searching for soooo long trying to figure out how to get my drums sound like this....I am thinking of selling my 3000 (possibly)

whoa whoa man. What are you telling me. The bangin beat samples sound better in the triton with effects than they do in the mpc with out effects. Im asking this cause i have a motif and as of yet i have not installed the memory to use samples in it. are you saying the triton with effects are giving new life and more fullness to the bangin beat sounds, cause i two will say that the sounds are flatt and have alot less punch so i dont use them much but if you are saying the triton as added life to them let me go and grab the trash can before i throw the bangin beat sounds away.

EXACTLY....I had all of these bangin beats samples, for awhile and just using my fx off my mixer was ok and using the ones in my MPC were ok but the fx engin in the Triton is unbelievable man...which Mo do you have, I had the original motif and it had some pretty good FX....the main thing is that compressor on the Triton is crazy....and so are the equ and reverb FX.......the compressor has a high frequency control too...so if you had a track where you may have some shakers or hats that need to be toned down in the mix the compressor handles it even though its good to separate the kick, the snare and hat....sometime if you're lazy like me ...I don't....LOL...but yes, your samples are a big part of the sound in the mix.....but the fx and compression as you've heard many times are the bigger part....I think you can work with the bangin beats samples if you use the right fX man.....do not throw em away....Here is the other Kicker about the Xtreme...it can rip CD's...you can put a cd in the usb cd player and rip it, then do what you do with recycle, chop it, time stretch it...etc...its sick.......except on the board Triton and map the samples.....I am going to put up some beats off of it soon you'll get to hear what it can do.

yeah man thatz what I paid for mine about a few months after it came out...I had a friend that got me his guitar center discount....I had the choice between Trading my Fantom S.....I only traded it because the programming and the pads left me a lil disapointed some people think I change my mind too quick but programmability is everything....you won't want to take too long to make beats...if I think the piece is overly hard to make the pattern how you want or not efficient I don't like to use it....so I figure if you paying top dollar, buy the piece of equipment that suits how you like to produce .....so I Figured I would take the deal and then maybe later get a new Motif...I had the classic Mo but I only got the Extreme to be a lil different I know like 5 cats with the Motif ES....LOL

i just wish korg would issue a stripped down version of the triton extreme........

yeah, i know they had the le but that was a very underwhelming piece if you ask me.

i would love an extreme rack, but that doesnt look like it is happening anytime soon.

that is actually the most reasonable price tag i have seen in a minute for the high end boards. now give me astripped down, sequencer-less, effect-filled sound module for $999!

Trinity was definitely classic, as far as the compressors and EQ I dunno if its better than the Extremes Brand new FX engine but loading samples in the Extreme is Sooooo Easy especially since it's a virtual Drive when you connect it to your computer...it doesn't get any easier...LOL its one reason why my MpC3000 hasn't been seeing a lot of uptime recently....you have to do some poking around to really see how many it has and its packed...but the box that came close to me was the Yamaha RS7000 for its compressor and FX.....
