how do you apply an effect to the overall mix. like say i wanna use compression on the whole beat or eq on the whole song. how do you assign those fx to the whole beat? i use fL 4 - that kid making bangers since 04'

You have to do it through the fl mixer... The menu for that is up by the piano roll icon, playlist icon etc... On the fl mixer there should be a channle that says master, under that there should be little shelf looking things with arrows on the left of them... Click on the arrows and your effects will come up...
