Hip Hop (music)= mind concept rendered to waveform or some other form for the world to hear your mind concept, tools for that are instruments, samples or any other sonic matter formed into understandable sequence.

however you may want to paint your concept there are NO rules, just like graf, or any other freestyle art its as complex or as simple, sticking to original formulas complexity is minimal.....

the end product is hip hop

take that concept you made and let an emcee flow on it, their message propagate through your concept, together its complete and the world know your message and understand what was birthed from your mind...

Peace to all of you and props for dropping that insight. Alotta cats need to have more direction, substance, and purpose in hip hop instead of just doing it to make money and "be fly". That shit sickens me. I love hip hop and expressin my self through any of the elements. I started out writing rhymes but felt drawn into the other ways to express myself and it's taken me here in the end (through years of bboying, graffin, writing and djing). Hip Hop most definitely is in your mind but I feel it shouldnt have a materialistic connection like it seems to have now. I guess cats have that materialistic part in their mind and are doing that action part to make it happen. To eaches own, at least there is a hungry underground because of them.
