This maybe old in some places but its relatively new here in my area. Whats the deal with cats hooking up PA systems on their cars and blasting music over it? LMAO, I know that a part of the hip hop culture is all about finding new ways to be creative and whatever but this has got to be the lamest idea yet. Every single one that I've heard sounds like a loud @$$ alarm clock on wheels...and to top that, the cats around here seem to find the MOST aggrevating song to play over it (you know the ones with a stupid @$$ bell or something simular in it).

Im not really knocking it but damn I think Id rather have that BASS the rumbles my house at 2am in the morning when they roll by rather than turning over and hitting the snooze button and its not even my alarm clock.

No offense to any of my ill brahs that do this...

But hell, when you turn up banging out the realness and muthafukkers turn there shit off because they just cant compete its a buzz. There aint nothing new about enforcing your music onto other people, aint that how Kool Herc did it from day one. Only not from a ride but by putting his home speakers at the windows and blasting shit out.
You can say you dont want to hear it, and I agree with the music mostly being played about now I dont want to hear it either, but if Kool Herc never did it from his apartment then hiphop might not even be here.

Disclaimer: (I'm just referencing your post, not really "going at you" at all)

"Some guy" named Kool Herc used to ride around the city with house speakers and the LOUDEST sound system he could possibly have. Hip-Hop in general is a offspring of reggae, specifically dancehall music, which prides itself on "the sound system". If you actually been in a "real" dancehall, the sound systems tend to be "bass-ier" and much (much) louder. I don't know how most dancehall artists seriously aren't deaf by now.

Now actual PA systems might not be the "new thing" where I'm from or where I'm at, but people hook their rides up and ride out - ESPECIALLY in the good ol' South, where people
got to drive to get around.

I love my system in my car - in fact, nowadays I ONLY listen to music in my car (very strange). That's how I (and even Dr. Dre) know if something is "right" musically - put it in the car and ride around.
