I would suggest, if u were going to do that to make your beats in FL, but not record in it

may seem like a stupid question. but in FL, how do you chop up the long ass bass lines? The long ass samples they give you? Even tho I put em in piano Roll, da *ish rolls forever, LOL....I'm not rookie on da software, I'm just geetin' to where I need to start tweakin some stuff. i know the studio edition has a wav editor so I might cop that soon

You should make your beats and use some other program to record your vocals. I use sound forge to record my vocals and I load the recordings right into fruity and mix it all together. Some may find this unprofessional but you can get some pretty good sounding material out of doing it this way. And its good for starting out!

I really don't chop shit very much... But its got the "Fruity Slicer" and "Beat Slicer" It lets you choose where to chop shit then u can assign it to the PC keyboard/keys, and hit them just like an MPC... Delay from the soundcard to the disk depends on your computer, soundcard, software management etc... I got my delay to be about 12 miliseconds which is pretty much not noticeable. Also, any time I record I usually use the "snap" setting, which automatically puts the recorded midi in the closest step, half step or quarter step... then if one is off you can simply adjust it in the piano roll... its easy as pie...

FL is fuckin dope as hell I highly reccomend that you get it... yeah just peep the demo... u can do everything cept go back and work on projects at a later date...

Fl is the m*thaf@ckin shit....I've been using it for two years now and have no complaints...I went fom hardware to software. it's kinda easy to learn and kinda not but once u get over the hurdle of putting the beats together you'll be good. Plus chopping up samples. Here is how i do a little chopping up of samples. It's a little simple to me. I click on the sample so u get the channel settings then in the bottom right corner i use the ATT knob to turn down the beginning of the sample or DEC knob turn down the end of the sample, then place it properly in piano roll so that it stays on beat. I use this method from time to time. (one of my many)

Get goldwave from ******** or download.com. You can record and chop anything you want without having to read an instruction maual. Save directly as a wave and put it into fruity loops. Use the shift knob to place the vocals exactly were you want. It takes some practice, but putting your vocals in fruity loops aint as crazy as it seems.. Try it
