ummm..l. to be hoinest, as a californian, and working in the field of social services being a former foster kid in this state, having seen how much this population has been screwed along with what once was an excellent education system, he is a good upgrade where it concerns the issues of this population. however, he is somewhat of a layman's politician. he has never given a rock-solid answer to exactly what he plans to do besides "fight for education, business owners and the children!" and he has never given a solid answer as to how he plans to do it.

as far as i am concerned, he has been the lesser of evils at best. the only candidate we had that had a firm grasp on things was Mclintock, who threatened to put Bustamonte in office by spliting the republican vote with arnold and refusing to bow out, knowing full well he couldnt win.

so.. its cool with me, the best OVERALL guy won it and thats cool.....

but i am holding my breath, because its a pretty big mess out here and given that he is a political novice (yes, he has served on the education council in the reagen days, and a few other things. he is a big education guy, and that is a ogod thing) despite his kennedy ties, he will soon realize how much davis screwed things up.

besides, so long as you cater to special interests, even worthy ones, you will still fall far short in other areas, so while i feel this is great for my area of life, it may prove to make things harder on a few others.

it doesnt worry me as mouch as gray davis did. everything wasnt his fault entirely, but he was the man in charge and he signed the bills. at least with arnold the schools will a least be a priority again.

yes i do believe its a shame, and we do realize that he is the governor. i wanted him to win simply because he was the best overall...... in all actuality uberoth and mclintock were far better candidates but because most voters are very ill educated in these matters, arnold was a lock over both of them from the get. thats the only reason i said he was the best overall; voting for the other two would have allowed bustamonte the win. it was chossing between evils.

the shame really lies in the voting public of this state. when we as a people choose this guy over two other VERY qualified, wise, and knowledgeable candidates..... well it just goes to show you why other countries are against democracy.

the important thing is that bustamonte DIDNT get it and gray got recalled. there is only like 2 years left on this term (i think) and so if he screws up (not like there is much left after davis wrecked everything) we can get a person better qualified for the job, and maybe we will have learned a lesson this time around.

the cool thing is that the social service system here is changing so drastically and being restructured and it will change the a lot of thiings are done within our communities themselves. it doesnt matter who is "in charge" if the people are blind, lazy and uneducated. the funny thing is we really do have power to make change and growth and fix problems where we , and then we point fingures and blame that person for everything we were neglegant in doing ourselves.

This is very true...I forgot to touch base on that a little bit.
Its really quite dumb of me not have already addressed that cuz i am concerned for tha general progressivness of tha school systems and how they are being funded.(That shit is indefinitly important)...Plus, my moms a teacher and ive seen from tha personal sidelines how hard it is to be a teacher while a governer like Davis was in office. Tha fucking guy must have been free-basing like everyday given tha kind a shit that dude came up with as so-called solutions.

If anything i think tha right man out of tha rest did win. And im glad that Busto or Davis is out of tha picture to be quite honest.
Arnie is a public figure/american hero in our popular culture but he also is a really wealthy man that has good intentions. Surely his great phisique isnt going to make everything better, but i think he does have tha potential to organize and think "inside and outside tha box" which is more than i can say for Busto or Davis.

First Bush, then Arnold...with such poor choices it amazes me that USA ever became a superpower ;)

hmmmm..... cope, do you honestly believe that other world leaders are that much better? who, why, and how are they so much beter? i realize that you did not say they are, but it sounds like you are hinting at it.

arnold isnt a "poor" choice by any stretch of the imagination. he just doesnt have the resume that lends security to his position. he was the third best candidate, given his stance (although he hasnt given much insight into how he plans to fix it) on the major issues at hand. the two with the better qualifications stood no chance of winning.

also, we must take into account the that he is not naive enough to believe he has all the answers- he has alread yreached out to other leaders and congressmen to work together to fix things. of course he is stil basking in the victory glow, so a year from now i may be ranting about how bad he screwed things up. but isnt that the point? let the man have a chance to fix things or screw them up before we judge and mock him.....

he isnt exactly my first choice, but he isnt a poor choice. heres the thing-you guys can laugh or mock, but you dont have to live with the consequences if he DOES fail- and that isnt funny at all.

as far as the usa becoming a superpower..... well i dunno, you tell me..... we have had some tremendous leaders along the way to get us here. none of them were perfect, and some had greater sins than others. poor choices? i tell you the truth, the poor choices that make this country look so bad go deeper than our presidents and governors.

its the rascists, its the biggots, its the self-righteous church, its the mayor, its...... police corruption, its big business, its....... who?

its the people on this site who support artists that promote sex and violence, its hollywood and its support of sex and violence in its movies, its the buying public who pays for it, its the drug dealers, its the guy who gave the dealers the drugs, its the people who buy them, its the kid who cheats on his test....... who?

lets see...... its the pagans, athiests, the tree huggers ,the doctors who charge $25 for an asprin, its the guy at the corner store taht charges .95 for a can of soda, its the immigrants, its the people buying cracked software, downloading music......

..... and it is the res tof the world that seems to follow our lead culterally.

... so you without blame, go ahead and cast the first stone.
