The Roots and Those "Other Albums"...

First things first, the Roots are one of my favorite hip hop groups and have been repping my city of Philly for WAY over 15+ years but lately I haven't really been feeling their albums post Things Fall Apart. Don't get it twisted, they're some jawns on all of those albums but as a whole I can't put in any of those albums, hit play and be good. It's like Illadleph and TFA had that boom bap sound that I loved but after that it was hit or miss. How I Got Over was dope but to me it had way TOO many guests MC's cause damn near EVERY song was featuring someone when I prefer Thought get busy on his own. So to not let those albums go to waste and collect dust I threw together a mix of some of the Root's remixes, live performances and songs off those "other albums." Check it out:

Thanks for the mix!

Agreed, I feel the exact same way. After "Things Fall Apart", their music did as well. They're still one of the best groups out there, I just think their best days are behind them.
