What would you like to do that fl is holding you back? or are you just in the mood to try something new? The reason I ask is because I once got bored with fl, but when I added Waves, izotope and Morphine to the equation, it gave fl a whole new meaning.

Well...

I had the same feeling with FL a while ago....... My music was the same....I got Maschine and everything changed....

Yeah switching software kills your productivity at one point because you're learning something new and you're not able to crank out any music...but once you learn whatever you use...you'll be in great shape.

I agree with what you're saying but what are you doing now that you couldn't have done with FL? Actually, just going to Maschine alone, you'd be doing a lot less.

It's not that what I couldn't do... The freedom of having to do everything with pads rather than a mouse made me better overall....

And with going to Maschine, I've actually done more and felt better about my music. When I went to FL recently, it just wasn't the same.

Part of it is being able to collab w/ ppl that use pt , but ive used fl since i was 12/13 and everything is starting to be like routine n robotic , shits all sounds the same to me no matter what plugin im using .. almost need to start over to get that creativity back i had years ago.

Try some kind of standalone vst and/or do some remixes you wouldn't normally do.

ayr0n, I've always thought your music was dope. I kinda feel like this...PT is great and all but once you really dig into it, you will find that it's strong point is they use better drivers and are geared more towards vocals. Also, other than a lot of studios wanting everything in PT, it's no big deal at all. Then consider that in a few years you probably will feel the same way about it (being bored with it...). Plus you can always import from FL to PT now, if you choose to go that route. Plain and simple...they all pretty much do the same thing, maybe in different ways but the end result can be achieved with any of them. PT isn't really the answer for finding new creativity, it's just a way of going about it differently.
