Well Ive listened to this and I can tell Swivel had nothing to do with it...
I hate to say Im not impressed, maybe its me..Maybe it is..
Maybe its because Ive learned so much on mixing from here I know to not let vocals sound likethey are peaking even when the artist is just plain speaking..
Maybe its cuz I learned not to press a guy to record that just monotonously read some rhymes someone else wrote for him 5 minutes earlier and is seeing them for the first time.
Maybe I know about plugins that remove hiss bout keep the sound grimey.
Maybe I got a bad bootleg, that was the concept lp prior to the mix.
Maybe Ill taught me about song strucure , iono...
The whole thing isnt bad, but really sounded amatuerish for the calibur of folk on there.
IMO..
Ill now take shit from the fam..

I agree on the engineerin man,,,it did sound like shit. I think I mentioned that on another thread when the first song leaked. I liked it. Just wish it was mixed better. better then the shit out there now.

I liked it alot!!! You guys are up more on the engineering side then me, so I can't comment on that.

Although fast forwarding on a couple of tracks, I've been listening to this beginning to end. This 8 diagrams got me inspired right now and when I get home tonight I'm gonna get my RZA hat on and try and make something Wu-ish. Lol!

Relic, you talking about GZA? That's his style (monotonous) isn't it?

Also, did you all hear that Shaolin vs Wu-Tang is coming out. That's going to be dope!!! I can't wait to cop Big Dough Rehab.

But they didnt, because the stuff they did on 36 chambers sonically sounded alot better, I cant believe they released this like this, but thats me.

I'm gonna listen to it again with a closer ear. Rae said this was just not wack, but rushed. ??? But what's weird is that I saw a RZA interview and he was telling how he put three mics on the vocalist cause he wanted the chest, mouth, and nasal sounds or something like that and how it was hell for the engineer. I'm gonna go back and find that vid and post the link.
