The card reader is cool and all that; but what they need to do is get rid of that outdated ass scsi port and add usb or firewire. That would be the ultimate upgrade for me.

you can get lil ass cards that hold gigs and shit its crazy so yah thats better.

This flash issue has been handled befor...you can fit an ide flashreader in a mpc2kxl with no problems at all. I dunno how much they go for but they cant be that expensive these days.

They didn't include USB because the 1k already has USB and is cheaper so there no point in making it cost even more. I also dont think they'll change the whole productionline for 2k to adapt the pcb for USB mounting. I mean, that's a lotta money.

so what do yall think as far as the new cards ? are the zip disks really that wack? how bout price wise for these mem cards vs. zip... cause im bout to cop an mpc this week, but dont know if its worth and extra 500 or 600 for the mcd, i allready gots to get the output expander... nah mean

zip is good but not safe, there this thing called the tick of death, you hear a click tick thing and your zip is screwed. I havent had the problem yet but this is what I know, so far I've ran zip drives for EMu samplers with no problems.

And like said above...You can cheapily fit an ide flashcard reader from a regular 2kxl. Unmount the bottomplate, unscrew the diskdrive, detach the ide ribbon, shuve the drive out, shuve the ide flashreader in, attach the ide ribbon, mount the drive back in and mount the bottomplate back in. Flashcards are cheaper considering the storage limit of zipdisks, there also much smaller so you can easily lose them hehehe.
