theres always one wierd one in every class and on every forum...that would be me.
been lurking this list for a while and it's dope (didn't know so many other heads was into fl studio, but hey...there ya go). i say wierd one because I get bored easy, so i flip a lot of styles. Dnb, garage, hip hop, house, rnb...and i don't MC, i play a wind synth (mostly basslines and "D train" synth lead solos). right now i'm living in london playing wind synth with Soul II Soul (they ain't top of the heap no more, but they're cool to play out with) while doing DnB live stuff, at clubs like MOVEMENT (fl studio, of course).
So i don't know if i'm real by modern standards or not, i just live by the Beat and it's nice to find a forum where heads is trying to get it going instead of just expeimenting on some shit that no one is gonna hear.

Welcome to IllMuzik. Soul 2 Soul was one of my favorites back in '89.... Are they doing anything new? How did you hook up with them?

after doing DnB on the street in SF for a few years (no joke) i felt i would go farther in europe. so after a year of being broke and damn near homeless in london, i went to a monthly they we're doing (skated there, in the snow...i'm not making this shit up) and let him (jazzie b) hear some clips of me playing that i had saved onto my ipaq. he listened, i then told him i had my shit with me and he said "break it out!.." I did, and that was that. i now tour with him and with soul II soul sound system as the "wind synth guy". basically i add in remix elements, i lay down big ass basslines, or double parts up, that kinda stuff. it's great because they, (as they say here in london) don't take the piss. and they're comfortable with themselves now, so they do it because they love it, cause they dont need the money. oh...and the shows are usually at least 50-60% women, which is reeeeeal nice.
