submitting beats

when you submit beats to a artist, do u all put the first 30 seconds of a beat or the whole beat??

depends on how you want to do it Homie!.....if you go hard and don't care about being jacked......go ahead and put the whole song on there......LOL....no but seriously always protect yourself player.....either put a snippet mixed with some loop in the background or you and your dj skills with a promo message or a dj Clue like EXXXXCLUSIvE iv iv iv iv from B Hawk........haha naw but you gotta think about what goes on when a hot loop or demo hits a label and the producers get their hands on it......no telling.......I mean I don't know how many people you have collabed with or whudevva .......but bottom line is and I know that a lot of the hobbyists might get offended but if you step out of your house and investigate the industry the unanimous opinion is.....THIS IS NOT A GAME.....so always protect your neck and copyright and never ever send unsolicited or solicited material without having done everything you can to get the legalities taken care of....

yo tru dat! i once talked with this a&r from universal records. he asked me to send him 3 tracks so i did, no copyright, nada. he said he would get back at me in 2 weeks. 2 weeks passed nada, i have`nt talked to this guy since. i swear i heard 1 of my tracks sampled in a busta rhyme song. before you submit beats do your homework and make sure everything is covered on your end.

Yeah protect ya neck, send it back to your self if you don't have tha tyme to do tha real paper work on it. Make sure you it thou. As for sendin' them out I alwayz talk over my trakz and I make'em bout 1min 30secs if I talk. No talkin' 30 secs. This game is not really a game, it's a business. I like Q-Tip said, "Rule # 4080, people in tha record business are shady........" Something like that..lol Look at it like everyone will steal yo sh*t.
