Its always interesting to look at this list because you can draw all kinds of conclusions on what is and what is not......whats crazy think about how different this list would look if, I mean if there were no free music sharing and instant access to hear the music before you buy it......how many more of these people would actually either be platinum or gold if....just think this is just the legal soundscans and reported figures.......... its still amazing to see it and the mix of music there lots of people still getting paid though (hopefully) LOL

how about if cds werent 12-15 bucks and were 2-5 dollars, and they didnt pay people ridiculous prices to make songs, instead they give people money off of performance

same thing applies to movies, why pay some asshole 20 million dollars up front to do a movie
instead give them a smaller salary + percentage, theres people today who get the higher of 25 million or x% of the movie box office, the HIGHER, thats awful
but i guess thats why i ll always love america

if cds were 2-5 bucks
id buy every piece of shit that came out even 50 cent or eminem

9zeros thats true! a cd though really aint nothing 2 meals @ mcdonalds....12-15 aint that much but see the thing is most people like a variety in their music, is someone found a way to give you more songs or either some kind of promo on a cd to go to a website and get 10 free downloads from their label they might make more money too, I guess they not getting too clever with their marketing either, plus if they did that they could actually factor in the freebies on their end as a sale too...WOW but I feel your pain I dont buy that many CD's unless I know for sure it is a hot album....

I feel both of you..but on the real listen before you but it has always been around..it wasnt an issue like it is now...but to me really that really dont haave anything to do with the sales...its all about the price..when cd sale price were 12-15 there were no problem with sales ..now price are 18-20 you cant get folks to spend money on a cd that have 2-4 good songs on it..

and now this is the reason downloading it before you buy it is so much damn near the standard..someone leaking the album..and they dont know who  come on now...the labels know whats goin on

i expected Will Smith to do better, at least platinum.

Luda did suprisingly well.

i cant believe Mike Jones will go platinum. Dipset... thats lame.

You mus understand, not only did the south star outt of the trunk becoming millionaires the people buy their music even b4 the World knew about them...........fanbase and support is the key you just cant rely on the record labels to promote you like a lot of artists that get signed to a major label and and create some image and no one anywhere ever heard of them.......DJ Arnold Slice...he's also up on my radio station thats one of my contacts in Mike Jones camp thats his official DJ too....out here where I am the hardest thing is to gain some local fanbase and sell to them ....but anyhow if you know them factors it aint hard to realize those artists going Platinum easily! people knew about them b4 all the hype.......an you know dipset...that name alone sell......but as much as I like Will Smith......people are saying Who is Will Smith?? LOL that should have been the name of his album.
