Sound card upgrade

I been thinkin about upgrading my soundcard since my old one iz kinda F*cked up.

I tryna get the m-audio 2496 piece but I gotta problem.

Before I spend my money I need to clear-up.I know my pc needs a pci slot in order for me to make thiz,and I'm sure I got one but I don't know where it iz.

Can some help me figure this out.

PS:Its a compaq Presario R3000 laptop.

laptops use PCMIA cards they dont have PCI, what u need to do is get the USB version, it can b found here: http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/AudiophileUSB-main.html
