i gotta agree wit you berserk, in da club was a lot better. he needs a better club banger then this to compete wit in da club

SHit all i know is i was back home in FL, in some hole in the wall club and this shit dropped.
Those drums shook the whole damn club. I felt that shit is my gut. People were going crazy, bottles were getting thrown, and hoes were getting off the chain.

If thats not the recipe for a club banger then i dont know what is.

That joint's OK. I'm not a big 50 fan. Is it me or does it sound a lot like Lloyd Banks' On fire. Like a simplified version. But Dre is still the man. You can hear the results of his slaving over the EQs on the drums. Probably any generic drums you can find anywhere just tune and tweaked to hell.

I agree about the eq on those drums Dre's a perfectionist so they might have spent two weeks on just gettings the drums sounding just right. Since the track doesn't have a whole lot going on he made sure the drums sounded very big, wide open to compensate for the lack of other instruments and movement. Plus the simple drums that you can dance to was probably the theme, a lot of times they don't go for anything too deep just something you can dance to or can be played over the radio. At this point he doesn't have nothing to prove, although I don't like the joint that much I respect the engineering and mixing of that track.

GUYS!! come on, me and class had a good talk about this track and i think he is right. Look, listen to that track and then, listen to one of your beat. You'll Hear the difference on how our drums sound are cheap. You could hear the engineer's work. The beat is so simple and empty, but theres enough place for the artist to make it as a banger. Anyone of us could've had produced it. Me and Class learned so much musically last night. SERIOUSLY, Thanks Class :)

Why DO your drums sound cheap? Hmmm? I think think a lot of drums patterns sound cheap because of OVER PROCESSING! Folks just do way too much to drums. Let your drums be natural sounding. Round out your kicks with a [little] bottom. Sharpen snares with wee bit of highs. My rock & roll engineer friends say that [WE] Hip Hop beatmakers do to much adding shit which makes our shit seem muddy and thick. Try easing up on the over production of drums.
