software seqencer & sampler

ok i been through this before but i want to make sure i have it. i want a good software sequencer that will work with my roland XP-60. please any advice will be helpful.

Hey,

Any software sequencer will work with your XP-60. My favorite is Cubase, there are plenty of others out there that will work equally as well.

Your concern shouldn't be 'will it work with the XP-60', but rather 'will it do what I want it to do'.

i want it to do like a mpc did. i sequence everything in the soft ware and when i hit start on the comp it plays back the tracks that i played on the XP plus i would like a soft snyth that will work with the sequencer prog. halion or something like it

Hey,

Then you will need a sequencer which is capable of playing back software synths. Cubase will do that, as will Sonar and Logic. And Digital Performer...hell, they ALL do that!

Halion is a software sampler, you will have to load your own sounds into it. I don't know if it will work in anything else besides Cubase, you'll have to read into it.

There are other software samplers out there that are a lot cheaper than Halion, VSampler is about 1/3 the price.
