Peace to those who use the akai mpc 60/II,1000,2000/xl,2500,3000,4000. But I must say there is a software drum machine samlper by the name GURU by fxpansion. It does everything your MPC does. It can be imported into Reasons and other software such as Pro Tools also. You can midi it with your MPC for infinite sequences. Cost factor is $250 at Guitar Center or goto www.fxpansion.com and read about it and order it there also. MPeaCe.

It's basically a step sequencer. Similar to Reason's redrum.

hmmm im guna have a look at the tutorial videos now i suppose in a way you could almost use your mpc if you had it but have the display on your pc monitor as opposed to sumthing in bright green thats the size of a matchbox so that would be an advantage, the drum machine part doesnt seem much better than re-drum tho you can see all channels at the same time which is better ! if it imports into reason and pro tools thats gd coz i have both ! possibly if it integrates fully with my MPC id look at getting this !? anyone used it ?

Peace. i just was waiting for a software to go from my mpc 4000 to import my sequences into a software like guru. it was kind of nice to go from guru to reasons on top of that. So does this answer your ?question? as to why i was advertising the software(DJ Not 2 Serius)MPeaCe.

I just tried the demo on both the mac and pc. The pc crashed on me when i tried to load samples. it crashed so bad i had to restart windows. i then moved over to my g4. this program rocks, you can pretty much do everthing you could do on an mpc and more. no need for a note repeat when you can just draw you hi hats in. i could easy trim my sampls so that they hit on the break. one thing i dont like is that there is no tap tempo. you pretty much have to trail by error you tempo. over all this is a great software and i really thinking about switching to this and selling my mpc. after i learn how to get this to work in reason or protools. or logic.

After that review I might have to check it out, except that you say it crashes your PC and I don't have a MAC so I don't know. But if it's really so amazing I might have to look into it

iv never used this progam guru but you wont get it to work 'IN' reason!!! reason is a closed format ie you cant use vst directx or vsti's or directly record into it!!!! you can of course rewire but does guru use rewire??

One of the best things about an MPC is the instant workflow! The only thing tedious is creating my programs from the samples I chop. The pads, knob, menu setup. The machine is a dedicated music production center and PC's were not created to make music so music programs (reason, fl) have to work around that obstacle.
