ok, i'm a cheater. i dont dig (yet... i'm on my way to that point.. i'm still in "composer" mode for the most part)but anyways i have basically found my next ep's material (the beats on second ep will be all samples, in contrast to the all-composed-written-and-aranged-by-myself method of the current one in progress...) by sitting at work listening to "real onbe raphsody and searching for artists i know of and looking up lesser-known contemporys, but for the most part i have just found lesser-known and most importantly USED (to my knowledge) samples of certain artists...

so i just sit there all day and work, and it only costs me $15 bucks a month to have access to like, the entire VERVE catalog (not rally.. but like 80 albums worth), iterally thousands and thousands of records from all genres- world, rock, oldies, even comedy.......

so for those that dont have the time or money to buy records, with a credit/atm card, "you too can have instant access to this enormous catalog for the low, low price of $14.95!!!"..

purists may scoff, but heres a big middle finger for you if thats the case. there are still things i cant get from here, but damn, its a beautiful place to start.

what do all you sampleheads all think?

yo if your beats sounds dope and you make the samples your own by messing with em a bit or adding effects to them or even just composing them how you do it - it's all good. I'll be interested to here your new beats with these samples Cold.

Truth Thats my approach anything requiring arrangement or lots of thought do not hit the streets I am reserving easily put together beats with samples for any mixtapes or street level pushes....I think that it's ok to get your samples anyway you can....fugg the purists...I have been out diggin and a lot of times it ends up being a waste of time...and nowadays...it can be expensive....the spot I hit used to Be in Georgetown but they moved to VA........I dig in there but its pricey but I picked up some ol Main Ingredient and Mothers finest unopened....

Now as cool as that sounds there is an eeeven more cheatier way of doing things. Get yourself a sound recorder (your soundcard prob came with one) then get iTunes and nick stuff from the 30 sec little streams they give you for free. I'm such a leech
