Hey all this is my first attempt at hip hop production... I'm really enjoying this. I have been producing house / electro for the past 6 months, but with people like Pretty Lights, Gramatik, Michal Menert, Artifakts, I can't do that anymore. it's demeaning to the soul. anyways lemme know what you guys think!

For your first hip hop beat I think its very good.
The electronic background is VERY obvious in this beat, but Im at a stage myself that I think mixing it up a little is a good thing.

Its obvious to me you have a good technical ability, just combine that with a better understanding of hip hop structure, which will come with more experience and you will be good to go.

Thanks man, I appreciate the feedback. I definitely need to start sampling some stuff and making more organic sounds, so I'm saving up for a t.29 turntable to really delve into the whole vinyl shebang.
