Thanks @nikwen . Sorry I missed this feedback from the other day. Really appreciate the constructive feedback.
You're welcome!

I doubt the laptop speakers help.
Definitely! Those speakers are crappy.
I'd think about it as listening on the devices that artists will listen on. Phone + car speakers already sound like good ways to do so!

I started with a strange sample (for me) and tried to build a beat around it. Tried to leave my comfort zone a bit. Not sure if it really worked.

Nothing here yet.
Nope......IT WORKED!!!!

You love to deafen with those snares man! Take your snare down 1000dB and you'll have a super dope beat. Seriously mate, this is stunning. Get out of that comfort zone more often. Love it!!!

Thank you for checking out my sh!t. Really appreciate it. I reworked the beat a few times and I am glad you like it.

Will turn down my snares 1000 db in the future.

@Kane the MOD The last beat you uploaded is wicked homie. Love every section of it. I would say the kick and snare are too loud. Especially on bass heavy headphones/earbuds those kicks are coming through too much. Really love the ambient elements and vibe of this beat brother. Great job

Thank you brother. I really appreciate your feedback. My man @hosie already pointed me in the right direction (again). I actually made two beats today and now went back and lowered the drums in the mix.

I also updated the mix on my No Good beat.

Hey ya'll. Looking forward to hearing your beats/giving feedback this week. I got 2 this time. All feedback good/bad is much appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Electronic - Boom Bap Fusion

J-Dilla Style

@Rah.sool Electronic - Boom Bap Fusion - loving this beat man, atmospheric, great melody and piano. Something different to the usual vibe. For me the kick is a little quiet though. Nice work man.

J-Dilla Style - comes in nice and smooth, funky sounding laid back chill. Really good work with drum pattern and samples / instruments. Good use with the filtering in all the right places.

Both beats kept it interesting, really good work man I enjoyed these :fire:

*resists the urge to play Dilla beat first*

Okay, So I've listened to both beats before leaving feedback...

Fonky Abduction - Doesn't quite hit the mark for me this one - probably because (spoiler alert!) the Dilla beat just blew my socks off. There's an off-beat snare that comes in too early and nowhere near anything else musically. The piano doesn't quite flow naturally either. There's just a bit in the middle where it upsets the rhythmic sound of the beat. The sample and drums in general I can't fault and with a bit of tinkering will give you a really nice boom bap beat!

Donut's in the Wind - Now, this is beautiful. Sample is perfect. Really nice. The drums come in and I'm like "Damn, I'd have like them to be a little lou- oh here they are!!" Nice filtering with the drums at the start, it actually works really well. The drums are perfect too. Really, so so good. I love this beat! Great work as always mate.

Here's another remix I just finished last night. Still rough around the edges as always but you get the vibe! feedback appreciated as always. Looking forward to hearing another @MR. MINESTATE remix from 2004 :geek:

@hosie pure dopeness my man! Once again another one of your remixes where I prefer your version to the original. Revamped funky freshness, honestly great work with this, been through your soundcloud and diggin your whole sound and production nice.

@Kane the MOD you should definitely step out of your comfort zone more often very interesting and creative beat, builds well and good variation.
Like the creativity with the sample (not strange at all, do what you like with a sample that’s the beauty of it). Sound wise just need to lower that kick as it’s quite distorted in headphones at least and you’ve got a great beat. :fire:

@Kane the MOD you went in the right direction and I have no distortion on the kick now but I feel you went too far as it’s kind of weak now. You only needed to slighty lower the kick for distortion and all else was fine.
Saying that I currently listen and ‘mix’ solely with headphones so it’s tricky as speakers to headphones can vary a lot.
Again, good work man
