basically....... making it simpler cant make it worse .. but making it complicated would turn off headz from participating in the first place.

Well put. In that case I completely agree. Maybe all it needs is some organization.

Like I said though, I'm gonna be in there more this year, posting and reviewing, I feel confident that collectively this shit will improve.

I hope so. You need to be in here more and we need more talented and driven cats up in here. I like the community here but I am slowly moving away because of natural progression. The more I get into production and becoming involved in my music, the less time I see myself spending here unless the interaction made it hard to ignore. I see more and more dudes doing that. 101 and Fuze never come through unless it's time to compete yah dig? The site has to have draw like that. If the showcases ran a little more organized and gave people incentive to leave feedback, I think more people will post their sh*t and be a little more proactive.... just like in the Beat This comps.... as someone else mentioned.

i commend everyones effort but i think yall are trying to re-invent the wheel, i think the current showcase set up is fine, its flexable, easy to use and easy to maintain.. yall gotta take fades site aminstration into account etc, he is already opening and closing an thread every couple of days..to add all that stuff manually would be a pain...Programmaticly it can be done as well but i dont know how much acess to the source fade has(for site plugins)

I think it comes down to who is allowed in the showcase, more then how the showcase is run, maybe there needs to be a feedback rateing system attached to memebers,(exellent , great, avrage poor).. this can be assigned to each memeber etc.. maybe this will motivate cats to improve their feedback, and ignore people who dont give feed back...

class...

Hey this might be a little too out there for everybody, but what if we were to open an account at somewhere like ReverbNation, which all members would have access to who sign up to be a part of this, and then we could all submit our tracks when ever until the deadline and that way they would all be in the same place?!....I dunno, something along those lines would be cool IMO.
Im with holmz tho -
Sometimes its a pain the ass opening up two pages to review .. one to type and the other to check the thread
Thats why i think it would be waaay cooler to some how be able to have all the joints in one place to listen to them.

Often when u go to some peoples Myspaces, theyve inserted some really shitty code to deck out their page and so the shit never loads half the time and i end up giving up and not reviewing that persons music.

i dont know what is so hard about posting some feedback before posting your beat??? If you have time to surf Illmuzik then you have time to post some feedback on a couple of tracks.....I know some will say they dont have time right now, but honestly if you are on Illmuzik, YOU HAVE TIME. If you dont then dont post your beat until you do.....

I think it should be monitored for a month or so and just restrict those that dont leave feedback, simple

Or have a list of those that dont leave feedback and put them on blast so no one will leave feedback for them.

Well thats what this threads about, making any suggestions that could make the process better. I dont think anybody ever said anything bout it being hard to leave feedback for others?....This is about how to simply make it easier to review everybody thats in the showcase, doesnt seem that complex to me. If theres a better way to do something im all for it.

True but, if some just posts a beat in the showcase and doesnt leave feedback, yet you see them still in the forums for the next 2 hours, I mean come on.....they will usually post something like, I will post feedback later or some shit....,AND THE SHOWCASE IS FINE, its just those that dont leave feedback or shitty feedback which is like 80%

Honestly I dont think the showcase will get any better. I think it is fine the way it is. I honestly like the idea of creating an "on blast" list of those that leave no or shitty feedback. Anyone could look at the list, if you see dudes name, dont leave feedback. Because those that dont leave feedback are the ones that want people to praise their beats! If you stop leaving feedback for them, they will stop posting in the showcase real quick, believe me! That will get the garbage out real quick I think

Thats the main reason id like to possibly find a better solution to listening to everyones music and think that this thread was a good idea.
