just from experience, because the weight of the other records, it's generally better to have records standing on edge

if u have some warped ones, set ur turntable outside in the sun, put the warped record on, and turn on the turntable so the platter rotates.. do not put the needle on! .. do that for 15-20 minutes each record, and theyll be fixed
