Im tryin to open up my perspective of hip-hop. I dont download shit illegally or nothin, i just buy albums at the store. But i wanna get some suggestions from yall before i go waste my paycheck.

Heres a couple names that i wanna check out, but I wanna get kind of a description first.

Aesop Rock is a conscious abstract MC. Has a voice you have to get accustomed to and can flow like a motherfucker. He is VERY introverted and inspiring. Best album is Labour Days.

El-p is like Aesop except he sounds more harccore.

I guess it all depends on what yer into, but I had Ras Kas' very first album and tha shit was tight....I think that all tha proceeding albums didnt get good reviews but i never coppped em to find out....I heard his last album was good tho and that its more like his first shit, but Id check him out jus for tha fact that hes nice on tha mic...Thats why i thought he had somethin.

Aesop's of course hella cool if yer down to jus abdorb mass vocab and NY slang beatn' and bruised in a abstract way....

Basically, Mess mentioned a bunch of good ones....You might wanna check out Lexicon, or SOB....they got some cool shit on tha under too.

Players, I don't see what's all the fuss about downloading music is, CD players are a newer medium for playing music, just like the internet is a newer way of communicating, researching, advertising. Now back in the days, all of us old enough to remember when you got a new cassette, and your boy had something you wanted, you would get together and he would dub your shit and you would dub his shit, if you liked it that much sometimes you went and brought the original for all the fancy cover and credits and shyt. Downloading is the same thang. I'm from the 757 all over Southeastern VA, and we are pretty much in tone for what's going on in hip hop east coast and down south, and I'll admit if it wasn't for ***** and WINMX, and some of the websites I frequent, I wouldn't have heard of a lot of people, it's just too much out there, an example would be Little BROTHER, when I play that shyt people be like who is that, and for real for real a lot of underground hip hop get's marketed that way!!

Downloadin now-days isnt the same as tapes. Tapes that you used to record off the radio, couldnt be distributed like rapid fire real easy. Now, you download somebodys whole album for free. You send it to your friends. They send it to theres, and it keeps goin until that person cant even sell that album anymore. And the artist that put all that time and effort and work into that whole cd, wont get shit in return besides maybe some new groupie fans who just got that cd you downloaded for them. Downloadin aint helpin the artists, or the industry at all. I dont believe that its just loadin up a couple tracks for listenin. Its stealin. And now we have laws against it and its called piracy. I aint pissed at any of you guys cuz you do it. But try to think of when you blow and you work for a year, payin for studio time, repairs on your equipment, all that shit. And then you go to drop your album and everybody already has it burned off the internet. Youll be pretty pissed, and you wont know who to be pissed at.
...think about that...

Those are all pretty good. Bumpy has a weird kinda flow, but you could compare him to M.O.P. And he's got some Premo beats on there.

everything formant wrote down are worth checkin out but it also depends on your taste, but that is a great underground list, he just forgot, necro, lodeck (although he was on some atoms fam shit but actually he is on his own label with jakprogresso, johnny23) and offcourse the often forgotten OLDOMINION (onry ozzborn, barfly, bishop, snafu and a lot more guys and galls)..

haha...yo ive jus been listenin to all kinds of hiphop and alot of underground i guess for a long ass time.....I jus started respectin indi-artists more cuz they seem to spit tha real more often than tha shit that gets on blast on Mtv and tha radio....

But anyway, Yo I forgot to tell you that if you got jus tha regular Windows Media Player you can go an stream hiphop shit off tha net that will give you a better taste than tha radio or tha tv....I cant remember any good stations cuz its been a while, but jus check it out and look for some alternative/underground radio stations and yer sure to hear some typical dope shit that everybodies mentioned....
