Selling records on craigslist...

Is an absolute waste of time haha. I have never encountered so many idiots before in my life. I was selling off some jazz records, guys like Coltrane, Davis, Gillespie, etc.... and I spoke with a guy on the phone who offered me a *gasp* 2$ for each lp! I told him to keep his money. I wasn't asking for much, maybe 4-8$ each depending on the record, maybe less if they bought more... but damn it's really terrible on craigslist, it's full of waste of timers. Anyone else have similar experiences selling records?

It's hard to sell old records, when just about anyone has a secondhand or thrift shop in their vicinity, and they can easily find a hidden classic sulking around somewhere. I would recommend never selling a record, and massing a collection.

I love collecting records, but I need space, that's the main reason for selling. I don't listen to them, so they quite literally collect dust. I'd rather give them home where they will be enjoyed. Finding jazz records in thrift shops where I live is not common. I've found only a handful in years of digging.

Haha, right on Kontents... most of the hustlers have stopped e-mailing me, and am in the process now of making a bulk sale with a level headed buyer. Hopefully it pans out... I managed to sell 8 records last night for 60$, so it's going better than expected. Just gotta filter out the low ballers.
