I had a laugh at the fact that the danish pop group Aqua's hit 'Barbie Girl' is the most downloaded midisong of that site...that song is so terrible...

What do you mean, that's how the pros do it? I wouldn't know what to use a midi sequence for...

Cope][ Throw the midi file into CakeWalk or any other midi sequencing program and look at the musical notes on the staff and get the chord for "You got me" -Roots, the melody for "In da club" - 50 Cent or "Feeling it" - Jay-Z, any song that's listed...also if you download ie:"In da club" and you throw it in CWalk you can see the title stating,"Verse1,Chorus,and so on"...you can see Dre's format.

Hey Freakwency, it's all coming back to me...I've tried this once before. I dl'ed the "in da club" sequence...and am currently going thru my sound libraries to find the sounds that's closest to the original...I can't wait to hear the outcome...if Reason and my sound libraries can make anything close to the original.

Hey,

WHAT??!?!?!?!

Why would anyone need the frigging MIDI sequence for any of these tracks? They're all a bunch of 3-note patterns looped over and over and over....if you download the MIDI sequence, often you're stuck removing all the controller information at the beginning because it messes with your synths!

Come on guys, use your brains a litte bit....

you are WRONG V-Man. sorry.... dl "In da club" all the controller info. is there and in CakeWalk it will ask you if you would like to keep the controller info or dump it.... if you choose "yes" it keeps the original feel of the beat....

Hey,

Quote: "...you're stuck removing all the controller information at the beginning..."

Quote: "...CakeWalk it will ask you if you would like to keep the controller info or dump it..."

How am I wrong? You have the benefit of having a powerful sequencer (Cakewalk) which allows you to strip that stuff before sending it to your gear. The fact is you still have to strip it, and not everyone's sequencer has this capability. I use Cubase, I don't know if that feature exists...if I want to strip that stuff, I have to go into the list editor to remove all the PC/CC data from the tracks, and then from the track headers.

My argument is that something like In Da CLub has no more than 6 notes in its main hook, it would take anyone with the ability to spell their names forwards and backwards about 10 seconds to throw that one down on a keyboard. Let's face it: hip hop is not musically complex.

Take care,

Nick
