Sampling: Musical or Freak

This isn't for my personal benefit or anything I'm just wondering. For those of you that sample do you go to create a real musical record. Like it makes sense as just plain music not just a hip-hop track. Like you could take the instrumental and othergenres could connect.

Or do you prefer to take a sample and just freak the hell out of it and find those little hidden samples?

hmmm i mean tbh it depends wot samples im using sometimes i want to show off and just freak it and sumtimes i try to get it to sound musical like a band could replay it, i think it depends a lot on the original sample!

it just depends on the feel that i want. whatever element that i need to create an experience, mood or song.
