Sampling drums? HELP!

OK, I have found that I have a huuuuuuge problem.

I've found that sampling snares is much much easier than sampling kicks. So my sample library of snares is quiet good while my sample library of drums is non existant. So when I get to putting the drums on a beat i always get real stuck and depressed because I can't find kicks that fit.

Ive tried sampling drums, but they always have something on top of them which makes them unusable. For example, they usually have a hihat incorporated in the drum and when i lay them down it sounds out of place from hi hats i have allready placed.

SOOOOO....what is the secret to getting good KICK drums? It's holding me back a lot.

Thanks.

First - do a search on ill muzik for these two topics - "you need sounds" , "mastering" read the entire thread - you need sounds will give the resources to free sample download sites - the threads on mastering will teach bout the frequencies on an equalizer and what they do, equalizing is what gives kick their hip hop feel - there are no great drum samples or sample cds that work the miracle - bass and kick "shaping" is gotta be done by you............

I've downloaded hundreds of kick drum sounds that sound tight for free from internet sites. I've also burned about 5 different sample cds from my friends with like 500-800 kick drum hits on each cd. I compiled all of these drum sounds in a folder on my cpu's hard drive. So now when I go to program my drum track I can always find a kick sample I like. Plus this helps because I never use the same kick twice. It seems alot of producers find a few drum sounds that sound tight and keep using the same sounds resulting in boring muzik. But I think the single best source for tight sounding Kick drum samples is a good sample cd.
