yo dog, i really dont like it because you are only allow to use sound files that are in the sampletank format, it dont let you use audio, wave, mpeg, nothing else. then when you install the shit on your computer you have to get online and generate a registration code from their web sight for the shit to work, and if that was not enough after you generate a registration code on one computer and you try to install sampletank on lets say your laptop the shit wont let you it will tell you a registration code has already been issued and the software wont let you get a new reg code or use the old one. now they got some great sounding samples and all but they are not concern with making their customers life easier so if you ask me dog i say fuck them and look for a nother sample program.

i still dont got the shit on my laptop, they aint getting another dime from me! :finger:

my thoughts exactly tito, after i finally got in I felt disappointed after all that trouble, the sounds sound pretty much the same as lil ol fruity soundfont player, i haven't heard the higher level samples, but investiing in professionally produced sounfonts i believe could give you the same result for less than half the price.

i got to disagree here... sampletank2, for one, DOES allow other formats- akai s1000/3000, samplecell, .wav, aiff, and another (i think). 2- the effects are excellent. the wah isnt the best and there are better reverbs, but you really get, OVERALL, awesome effects- 4 per channel plus a compressor. you cant go wrong there. i have loaded my own .wavs from cubase and completely altered the nature of the sample and layered it over the original for some dope results..... you can do a grip with this, that other samplers cant do- .especially with the price tagthe price tag- 400 bucks for something that is better then the proteus 2000 and a decent alternative to the motifs and tritons of the world. registration is a bit of a pain, i will admit...... but well worth it n.u.g, if you are considering getting this, hit me up.

I'm trying to use in in FL studio, I think I might have to buy Cubase or some shit to work w/ it cause honestly I'm havung some problems using it in FL sudio.

-Registration did fucking suck, and on top off that thier customer service sucks monkey balls as well.

-THe sounds are dope as hell tho' The interface is sexy too.

-For some reason I can barely play chords w/ it. I don't know if that's a FL studio problem of a sampletank problem.

But all and all I'm gonna go w/ Cold on this one, sampletank is sick man.

Yeah, SampleTank 2 XL is sick bro. I use it alot myself. It's very simple to use and it can import akai and all that shit too. I use it in Cubase SX 2 and I've had no problems with it. Almost all the Sampletank Instruments are very useable. Good luck with your choice.

Peace out

aye yo SampleTank 2 users, can you tell me if it's possible to use this program on more than one computer, like for instance if me and a production partner bought this program together would we both be able to use it on our own computers or would copy protection prevent this?

I use fruity loops with sampletank 2 and I love it. It lets you do so much for the price. I got it from the guitar center for $210...for some reason it was on a discount less than they pay for it or so they told me. Quick question... what happpened when you guys asked the sampletank 2 people to give you another reg code for a different computer. Is it really illegal for a single user to have the software on more than one of their computers?

Hey Dioii can you use different sampletank instruments in FL studio in different patterns without having to upload different sampletank copies.

(ex) Use Grand piano in patter 1 > pattern 2 use nylon guitar > pattern 3 use a synth pad etc

Any help would be cool,

Oh It's not illegal to install Sampletank on multiple computers if you contact IK mutimedia and let them know what you're doing.

Yes you can and its pretty easy. Someone else showed me how to do this. Just add a midi out generator(or more if you like) from the channels menu. Set the port number in the top right for Sampletank 2 and the port number for the midi out generator to the same number. Then set the midi channel number in the midi out generator to the midi channel that you want to use in sampletank 2. You can add a whole bunch of midi out generators and have a whole bunch of instruments available. I like to use the first midi channel on sampletank to preview instruments and all the other mid channels for the midi out generators for instruments I know I want to use. I had the same problem you have for a while and I was heated because I thought I could only use one instrument at a time or eat up all of my ram/cpu with multiple copies of sampletank 2.
