The other night I was pretty lit,,,,(and NO, I havnt been like I used to,,) But I was pondering if it is at all possible to reverse the effects on a vocal wav form, or any wav form for that matter. I know it sounds stupid, but with all the techniclogical advances wit Music Production(plugins, vst's) is there a way to strip down and revert these sounds to the original sound. I've been trying but unsuccesful......

at first read i was confused, but you mean like taking out the effects that were applied to something? Like somethin that would take out the reverb on a vocal for example or undoing compression?

i thought i read somewhere about a technique that helps undo compression.. not sure about that, or anything else actually.

good lit thinkin right there though lol, that'd be cool if we had some stuff like that.

Impossible and the only close way would just be putting more effects on the song not technically reversing it.

hmmm, it would mean, in order to do so, that you would need the original studio takes ( dry ) and then it would still be an audible effect....

ehr, i just realized you want the orignal dry studio takes lol

im my experience it cant be done, after you have closed your wave editor BUT, it can be done....

so, you have to go into the options of the editor and change the settings. There should be a box or something that will be disabled as standard, saying "undo after saving" turn it on, then the editor will save a file in SFs case, the .sfk containing all the effects you have put on, then after that all you have to do is undo, BUT in your case now stress, i would say you cant reverse the effects unless you have already done this, which you havent as compression etc, counts as "destructive sound editing" SAFE
