Resources on Learning Sound Design?

Anyone have any good comprehensive resources to read up on or videos to understand the basics of sound design?

I have no clue what I'm manipulating when I'm messing with effects/knobs within VSTs and effects. Some foundation would be nice before I start diving deeper and experimenting with it myself.

Books for sound design I'm not sure, I never check those out. I don't know if they even exist really. Tutorials maybe. Ask @Greg Savage too.

This is the closest thing I've gotten to finding some sort of online video that goes over some of the basics.

I know what you mean. It seems like there are an infinite number of options when it comes to turning knobs and flicking switches. It can be quite a complex topic.

Is there any particular VST you are working with ?

I've got Komplete 10 and I'm working with that, but like you said a lot of it is very complex. It'd be much easier to build off of some sort of foundational learning before messing with it.
