Hey all,
I joined recently and figured I should introduce myself..
I go by Renaissance, an artist from Toronto, Canada.
Growing up I was constantly exposed to two different types of music thanks to my parents --
My mother, a church choir leader forced me to sit through numerous choir practices and performances as a child, I guess one might notice my use of voice samples/classical instruments in my work; permanently burned in my brain.
My father, an avid cinematographer and movie-guru always picked up his favorite OSTs and there I was, soaking it all up, not knowing one day that the soundscapes would be of such great importance to me.
This blend of choir / cinematic scores has subconsciously influenced my music, one thing led to another, and Renaissance was born -- an old-age sound with new-age techniques and melodies blended onto a digital canvas.
My journey is just beginning and I'm looking forward to learning and growing with all of you.
