Just wanted to find out the best technique to lay accapellas over my tracks. I did it once before and it came out alright, but i think i just got lucky....what programs are best, any info on it would be good.

My friends had Pro Tools - I had no tools...

Man, all you need is multitracking program (which you already have) and your ears to get the vocals match with the beat.

thats really what it comes down to after you have a track ready. Just lay the accapella over the beat without editing it. Find out what part of it becomes out of sync and cut and paste it to make it match. Find out where your chorus and verses are and work from there too. What I usually do is find out how many verses there are and cut them out and work on them 1 verse at a time. Then add your FX and what not, mixdown and burn and bump. acid pro works nice... use the beatmapping wizzard and then in prperties go to strech and mess with it till u get it laid out perfect. i put down the original song first then lat the acca. over that till they match up
