refills as good as other sounds libraries???

after many years on a mpc 4000, im considering using reason as my main weapon of choice again. my questionis are the sounds/modules included in reason and refill you can purchase are of the same quality as those found kontact, goliath .. etc ... can u reach the same level of quality?

In theory no, the reason is that the NNXT sampler cant stream from disk so it limits the total sample size. That being said is can handle so much more than and EMU hardware module and the miroslav refills sound amazing. It has never really held me back. As you know I sold my MPC when reason 4 came out and have never looked back.

I had the same concern and I found that reason refills just don't compare to the quality of a goliath plain but this is jump in my opinion.You can achieve some great things in reason but it requires lots of use of the combinator and a good effects chain.I personally wish Propellerheads would add VST support and a some new devices to Reason 5.Alot of other programs are passing reason and to me if they added some new technology it would be the most powerful program on the market for production

eh reasons meant to be more of an instrument rack in itself it does that really freakin' good and thats the way they like to sell it.
check out for the NeoSounds Japan Inc. Fantom X Facsimile refill, theres a few places to find it out there if you look.. almost like havin a fantom rom.

What made u ditch the MPC Ash? Just the lack of sounds and being limited to sampling? I thought u had a sh-201 or something?

I’ll have to disagree with everyone and say yes you can get the same quality out of a refill or a patch that you can from a plugin. Is it simple? Sometimes it is sometimes it isn't. I do a little sound designing for quite of few of these plugin companies and I use reason to do it.

M-Audio 24 bit pro sessions refills are very good. I consider them the VSTi of reason.
