Right, I've been making beats for a minute, but I've just got round to meeting someone who raps god and we want to record some stuff, just bedroom sort of standard.
I make beats on the computer and I want to know what I need to get to start recording on computer too.
I've got a bit of cash to play around with but obviously I ain't rolling in it so I got to be tight on the budget
I want to get a USB soundcard so I don't have to open up my computer - any idea on the best one under $100
I need a good, sturdy mic. Do I also need a mic stand? Baffle boards? What sort of conditions are suitable for a makeshift vocal booth?
Most importantly though, what software do I need on the computer?
I'm going to get logic, to arrange the vocals in, I've got Wave Lab 6. What else do I need?

Thanks in advance

Well for starters i would recommend the following.

M-Audio MobilePre USB - http://www.zzounds.com/item--MDOMOBILEPRE

save a little bit extra to get this, its worth it for pc users! check the back pics. Also check the ratings on it and the user reviews on these products.

As far as mic's go you have to decide which kind of mic you want to go with. Either dynamic or condenser. For now i would recommend a dynamic mic.

Shure SM57 dynamic microphone- http://www.zzounds.com/item--SHUSM57LC

yes you will need a mic stand and some headphones when recording. Silence is golden also ...heh heh while recording of course. You shouldn't worry about making any sort of recording booth , unless you empty out your closet and put the mic in there and then record. Well even with that theres not much one does to thier closet, they just do it to isolate the mic from the room noize (computers and other forms of hardware).

As far as software goes you should be fine with what you have. Also i would recommend geting these items on ebay you can probably get the sound card for maybe 100-130 instead of 150. Same thing with the mic try ebay and only bid on users with more than 25 sale feedback at least.
