recording and using a voice tag for beats in FL

ill o.g.
alright so i got my $10 computer mic and figured out how to record sound in FL studio. my question is how to i save it and use it as a voice tag that i can put in all my beats? do i import it? copy and paste? what? i can't figure it out and there isn't a whole lot of stuff on the net that explains it.

once i record can i save it as a .wav or .mp3 and import it into a project? when i import it as a slice of beats it messes everything up.

any info would help,

thanks in advance.

serious? i got 19 views and not 1 person to help me out with this. i got a sweet idea for a vocal tag to go on my beats but i can't figure out how to save it as a wave or .mp3 and paste it into projects so i can re-use it.

lol, this is my first time checking this thread but anyway...try this...record your vocals in edison, drag it over in the sequencer and save the project in whatever format you want it in. If you save it as mp3, it will go into your project folder thats in the imageline folder. Once thats done you can access it in your browser under projects. Hit me back if you have any issues.

after you record your voice export as mp3 or wav your choice. this way no need to save. it will create the file for you on its own

But after xport it as an mp3 or wav how do I import it into different projects. Do I have to save it in a certain folder? Every time I go to import my option is sliced beat which just messes up my current project

listen, anything you do inside FL starts out as a FL project file, whatever is done next is a matter of converting it. Once again, record your vocals in edison, drag the recorded sample over in the sequencer. Go under FILE click "Save as...", a window will open, at the top of that window, you will see (by default) a drop down with "Projects" in the box...don't do anything there. Look down and name your file, then click the drop down beside "Save as type" and choose "mp3" and click "Save". Your Rendering window will open, make your settings if you need to, then click "Start".

That just saved your vocals as MP3 and it saved it in your "Projects" folder. When you open FL Studio, look on the top left side, you will see your FL Studio Browser, look under it until you find PROJECTS, click on it...you will see the vocal file you just saved under it. from there you can use it in any project just like any other sound.

There are other ways that you will learn just by playing around with the program but for now just follow my instructions step by step...the rest will come. I promise!

Let me know if you still have problems.

peace

Locate your user folder in the patches folder.. for me it's C:\Program Files (x86)\Image-Line\FL Studio 9\Data\Patches\User

do what dac said n record w/ edison then save into that folder as a wav or mp3 whatever...Then on your browser menu (this is normally on the left side of FL, go to view and hit browser if it's not there) scroll to the bottom and click user, you can add it to any of your projects just like you would any other instrument.

if you download any drum kits or anything u should prolly thro those in your user folder too so u have easy access 2 em...

another simple way is save your wave/mp3 wherever u like ... when u want to insert it into whatever project you have open, open up edison, click in the blank window then locate the sample .. .from there you can drag the whole sample to the sequencer or playlist .. and u can slice it up there (in edison) if u like ... or if u save all your samples in one folder just got to tools - file settings and add ur folder as a browser extra search directory .. it will auto show up in the browser ...

Don't use voice tags

Unless you only do it at the beginning and/or end, or you have some way to make not intrusive, they completely ruin the beat.

In fact, I think I'm gonna do a video about it.

Not to defend them but thats kinda the idea, they are supposed to "deter" people from jacking their ish (laughs at the thought). I don't jack beats but if I did, a voice tag wouldn't stop me...lol.

But I gotta admit...some voice tags are done professionally and very tasteful, I can think of a couple a people here that use them very well. So I'm not totally against them, I just think it's crazy for a "producer" to buy a voice tag for mainly 2 reasons (1) there's no excuse for them not to do them themselves. (2) I used to get free voice tags from platinum rap artist as long as you promoted their ish.
