Well the Sequencer is better ( a lil) I mean I have been hard at using this software as my sole beatmaking source with a Radium Controller and lots of phat samples......I must say that I think it is maybe better than lots of the expensive hardware I bought and had to sell after my studio fell on hard times.....

Dam that sux you had a bunch of hardware and then had to pitch it for cash...I know how that shit is...I would agree with you that software can do just about everything - or not more that hardware can do, but im also slightly reluctant to fully say so even though that seems to be tha case - since i still do want to fuck with a real drum machine and see my results. I figure they would be pretty similar though.
Anyway, back to tha thread....Im also totally diggin reason for several things it can do too, but i figured if i fuck with another program thats equal in quality and can do tha same shit - then maybe i might produce a different sound thats a variation of what i can already do on reason.
Im thinkin that from tha sounds of things - im gonna be happier with reason, plus - i had my eye on project 5 ever since it popped into future music magazine...Theres also Reaktor; i think this ones probably tha best softsynth - that would be great for synth beats that need some real synthsesis...

keep this thread alive - we need more opinions

i use both together..i play my melodies or basslines in reason, export it and use the sample in fruity loops, thats just what i came up with.

yeah I think that it is going to be very soon that the softsynths and midi controllers will surpass what's in like a one piece package like an mpc...even though like I said I am a mpc producer that is temporarily lacking in that piece right now.....it's inevitable...technology is leading the whole new music era....and the manufacturers know it....so they have teams of engineers that are putting focus on making software and hardware that will fit the needs of the computer based studio and I guarantee you that the problem of live sounding drums and getting more punch will soon be solved......that is the biggest complaint about software sequencing right now even though it comes close as far as processing an already punchy sample in a mix...
