Reason Users?

Do any body use the spider, and if so, what does it do, I was messing with it but nothing really happened for me, help me out, and thanx in advance

i'm new to reason and i havn't messed with the spider yet, but this book i'm looking at says its an audio merger and splitter. so you can merge 4 inputs to 1 output, or split 1 audio input into 4 ouputs.

yo. to tell u the truth man... the spider is useless (not really used) alot in HipHop... mostly Techno stuff... cuz when would u need to merge 4 inputs to 1 output, or split 1 audio input into 4 ouputs.... Unless you're combining for efxs...

and HipHop is not really efxs heavy... mostly EQing... u have 4 Aux on 1 Mixer and Infinite # of mixers u can use...

but its use most with the Mal./Sub. and Matrix to give efxs to other Mal./Sub. and Matrixs or transfer signals from them to combine them for 1 new sound...

good for making a Synth mixed Vocoder out of it...

I cant live without a spider man. I use it like a layering device for drums. Like I plug outs from redrum and merge them in spider and from there to compressor/equalizer or watheva. Hope I helped.

Its also really useful for layering diff Tones of what ever Signal your Splitting.. Its all Good for For grouping a bounce of signals and Routing them to

it depends how you work i personally use it to stack sounds synths on sampler sounds etc where as before i was a pain in the ass unless i stayed in the nnxt.

Why layer it when u can sample the sound and layer a different sound on it on the nnxt?? As for me, the Spider's useless. exept for routing. It's all about how your beat sounds at the end of the day.

^^ Obviously Because one doesn't wanna layer a Diff sound they wanna use the same Exact sound (just diff tones of it) Or Split the Signal and Make it Wider

Layering FX in Spider is lovely aswell

Plus what if someone wants to layer up there Synths and INstruments thats another way the Spider comes in Hand Merge everything up from Diff units
(combinator Does this now) But when combi wasnt around had to figure out other ways
