Reason and Cubase sequencing

If I rewire Reason to Cubase, can I use Vst's and record what I play right into the Reason sequencer? If so, how?

Right now, I use Pro-53 for example in cubase and export the loop as a wav file and use it in Reason.

Why would you need to do that ne way? It's meant to be used the other way round.

So basically you can carry on using your Pro-53 etc. in Cubase + after you set-up you're rewire channels, you can use all your individual reason instruments in cubase by picking them as the output instrument on your midi channel.

I like the Redrum (I usually step program my drums). I have programmed my own drums before, but I guess I will have to do it all the time. Sequencing in Cubase is just new for me.

Well if you like the Redrum so much, you could probably carry on sequencing your drums in Reason and then export your final drums as a loop .wav file and import it directly into cubase or better yet, into a sampler and trigger the loop that way.

Just a thought. Good Luck.

you should take the time to get into the cubase sequencer man.
it's a million miles more versitile, easier and quicker than the reason one.
and you can still use any of reason's sequencing devices while you're rewired to cubase, so you can keep using the step program in the drum machine if you want, cause reason is synced to cubase anyhow.

as long as you always trigger the song from cubase, you can use either sequencer or both (on different instruments) to trigger any of reason's sounds.

the best way to rewire it is to skip the reason mixer alltogether (it's a piece of shit anyway) and wire all the instruments straight through the reason hardware interface into the cubase mixer.

to answer your first question, no you can't do that.
you would still have to export the audio from cubase.
but I'd defo recommend learning to use the cubase sequencer.

or alternatively, if you like reasons sequencer and are comfortable with that, make your vst melodies in cubase, then export them as .wavs then load em into reasons sampler as individual samples....
